Building Information Modeling

Also known as: BIM, building information modelling

A shared, data-rich 3D model where every element carries its own information — one coordinated source of truth across every discipline.

Building Information Modeling

BIM replaces disconnected drawings with a single model where each beam, pipe, and wall holds its own data, so architects, engineers, and contractors work off one coordinated source instead of arguing over which printout is current.

It’s the same fight I have in product: a single source of truth beats a pile of out-of-sync documents. The technology changes; the problem — keeping everyone honest about the same reality — does not.
